Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Terminal 2 Expansion, Finnish Architecture and Design Days
One example of great Finnish architecture and design, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Terminal 2 Expansion by ALA Architects. More photos in my portfolio.

Finnish Architecture and Design Days are celebrated on the first week of February, highlighting the significance of architecture and design in our daily lives. The theme in 2023 is Quality of Living. There’s more than 50 events, such as discussions, lectures and guided tours around Finland and online.

Tomorrow, on February 3, 2023, is the 125th anniversary of architect Alvar Aalto’s birth. More on this on my next post.

More info here and here.

The event is organised by Archinfo, Alvar Aalto Foundation, Museum of Finnish Architecture, Designmuseum, Ornamo, EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices ATL, Finnish Association of Architects SAFA, The Building Information Foundation RTS, Finnish Association of Landscape Architects MARK and Finnish Association of Interior Architects SIO. The festival is included in the programme of the European Heritage Days.
